KW Floors represents
a succession of three generations of wood-floor finishers, so rare
in this century of impersonal production and remote outsourcing.
S.E. "Gene" Kelley Jr., a Troy native who inherited his
father's business and passed his skills to his son, continues this
heritage of excellent workmanship and quality service. For over
60 years, the Kelley family has been constructing, refinishing
and restoring hardwood floors in Central Texas.
Gene's father, S.E.
Kelley Sr., started the business in 1945, from his home, north
of Troy. It thrived with residential and commercial work in Temple,
Killeen and Fort Hood. In 1975, after 30 years and hundreds of
satisfied Kelley customers, Gene offered to assume the family business,
now known as KW Floors.
The third generation
in this clan of craftsmen, Gene's son, Brian, began working with
his father when he was 12, just as his father did, to perpetuate
60 years of Kelley family craftsmanship.
