This was a delicate project that we are proud of. These floors are extremely high quality rift & quartered white oak from 1916 that were covered up with carpet! The kicker is that these floors are only 5/16" thick, requiring a very delicate sanding job.
There was excess moisture trapped in a crawl space below the house which caused extensive buckling. Luckily the problem was solved and weeks of running fans and de-humidifiers removed all the moisture and allowed the floor to flatten back down.
We were able to repair all the damaged areas of the floor and completely sand & refinish it. Now they look brand new!
Note: If you have wood floors and notice any buckling or cupping then you have some sort of moisture issue that should be addressed. If the problem isn't detected and remedied then it will only continue to get worse. Most wood floors will settle back down after minor cupping, but if there's too much moisture then the floor may need to be replaced.
